Bing Integration Tips for Different Scenarios
- Country-specific prospecting
- Query (Keyword) should be translated into the language of the country you are searching for prospects
- In Criteria section, select Language and Country of prospecting sites you are looking for (Language and County refer to site’s location and site’s language)
- In Filter section, Input the regex to include the country specific URLs and exclude any same-language country urls (eg. Looking for prospects in Spain - include .*\.es.* to only search for Spanish sites and exclude .*\.mx.* to avoid getting all sites from Mexico
- In Values section, please choose the appropriate brand if you have country-specific accounts in Mediarails. Additionally, utilize the tagging system to apply regional tags, so you can use the filters later on to view country-specific prospects (eg. In Settings, add tags or Geography tags as “Spain” or “EMEA” depending on how granular you want to work on recruitment, and apply the tags in Values section in integration)
- Content sites prospecting
- Go to Bing.com and pre-search the keyword that you will enter as a Query
- If the results from Bing.com show many retail sites or businesses, disregard the keyword and try new ones
- Generally, any keywords that have Trends, News, Blog, Recommendation, Review, Comparison, Guide, How to … etc. along with the topic you are searching for bring more content sites. Eg. Input “Gadgets trends” instead of “Gadgets” to get more content sites
- In Query, using – minus symbol will ensure that the specific keyword is not included in the search results. If you want to exclude retail sites, you can input “Gadgets -shop” to eliminate any retail sites that used ‘shop’ in their description. You can also try other negative keywords like “Gadgets -free” or “Gadgets -shipping” at Bing.com to compare results and integrate the one that would give you the best result
- Influencers prospecting
- Query should be any popular keyword/hashtag you are looking for in the specific site
- There are 2 ways: a) Input the site url in Query with the keyword (eg. url:youtube.com Gadgets review), OR, b) In Filters section, input Regex (eg. .*youtube\.com.*) to only pull results that have youtube.com as a part of the prospects’ urls
- If you are looking for influencers, do not input Alexa/Moz restrictions as it will not pull any influencers
*Mediarails currently doesn’t support pulling in profile specific urls from some of the other countries’ social platforms, and it might pull in the social platform’s main homepage url instead of the profile specific page.
